Achintya Haldar(Biography)
Professor Achintya Haldar completed his PhD from University of Illinois. He worked for Bechtel Power Corporation after graduation. After returning to academic career, he taught at Illinois Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech, and now at the University of Arizona. He is a Distinguished member of ASCE and a Fellow of SEI. He received Presidential award from President Reagan and NSF. Recently, he proposed a novel technique to design more damage-tolerant structures excited by dynamic loadings (earthquake, wind, wave, thermo-mechanical loading in electronic packaging used in computer chips, etc.) by conducting multiple deterministic analyses. Earlier, he developed the Stochastic Finite Element Method and many reliability evaluation concepts applicable to many engineering disciplines. He received numerous research and teaching awards listed at haldar.faculty.arizona.edu. He authored over 600 technical articles including several well accepted books.

Adolfo B. Matamoros is the Peter T. Flawn Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he joined the faculty in 2014. Prior to UTSA, he worked for 15 years at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, KS where he held the titles of Professor, Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies, and Director of Laboratories. He received his MS and PhD degrees in civil engineering for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994 and 1999, respectively, and the degree of Licenciado from the University of Costa Rica, in 1989. Professor Matamoros is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas, and is active in multiple professional organizations including the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.

Mariaenrica Frigione received her Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Technology at Loughborough University, U.K., in 1997. She joined University of Salento in 1997 as Lecturer and in 2001 as Associate Professor. From 2013, she is Vice-Rector of University of Salento for Technical Scientific Area and Delegate of the Rector for Internationalization. She is the Leader of Materials and Technologies for Constructions and Cultural Heritage research group, keeping scientific collaborations with Italian and International Universities, Research Centres and Companies. She is co-author of three international patents on organic-inorganic hybrids, the license of two of them was sold to an Italian Company. She is author/co-author of around 100 papers published on International indexed Journals and of 12 invited book chapters. She is a member of the Editorial Board of ASCE Journal of Composite for Constructions. From 2018 she is the Secretary of ICPIC - International Congress of Polymers in Concrete Association (Board of Directors Member in the sub-committee of International Exchange since 2013).

Dr. Rais Ahmad is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering and Construction Management Department at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. His research interests are in Advanced Material Behavior, Wave Propagation and Non-destructive Testing (NDT), Earthquake Engineering, Steel and Concrete Design. Sherif A. Mourad is a Professor at the Structural Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He obtained his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from Cairo University, 1984 and 1987, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Engineering 1990 from the University of California, Irvine, USA. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, 2012-2016, and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, 2009-2012. Prof. Mourad has published more than 120 technical papers in international and local journals as well as proceedings of local and international conferences. He has participated in the supervision of 68 M.Sc. thesis as well as 22 Ph.D. dissertations that were awarded at Cairo University, in addition to supervision at other schools and universities.

Dr Konstantinos (Kostas) Daniel Tsavdaridis is Associate Professor of Structural Engineering and Leader of the Materials and Structures Theme in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng & EUR ING) and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE), and a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE). He is engaged in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, industrial consultant and leading an active steel and composite structures research group. Dr Tsavdaridis has published more than 100 scientific articles, journal publications, technical reports and international conference papers. He is an active member of the fib (CEB-FIP COM 7) and the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) while working for standardisation and development of design guidelines and specifications.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Kader Ismail is currently working as an Associate Professor at Civil and Construction Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia, Sarawak, Malaysia. He received his B. Sc. and M. Sc. Degrees from Alexandria University, Egypt in 1991 and 1996, respectively and his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2003. Dr. Ismail teaches undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering Materials, Concrete Technology, Engineering Mechanics, Reinforced Concrete Structural Design, Engineering and Environmental Principles and Theories, Construction Management, Concrete Laboratory. For graduate students, he teaches courses in Advanced Concrete Technology. Dr. Ismail has extensive teaching and research experiences over 22 years in Canada, South Korea, Malaysia, Egypt and Japan. Huseyin Gokcekus (Biography)
Prof. Dr. Huseyin Gokcekus was born on 23 December 1960 in Nicosia, Cyprus. He graduated from the Department of Geological Engineering in the Faculty of Sciences at Ankara University in 1982, and completed his Ph.D. studies at Middle East Technical University in 1990. He has already published 80 articles that focus on water problems, the environment, earthquakes, tourism and education: most of them being in English, and has conducted the editorial position of many books. Prof. Dr. Gokcekus is a member of several national and international scientific foundations and institutions. He has twice obtained Cyprus-American Scholarship Program Short Term Training Grants given by the USA - Cyprus Fulbright Commission; one of them being on Environmental Assessment of Abandoned Mine Sites, and the other being on Integrated Water Resources Management. He was elected for membership of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) on 25 October 2010 and appointed for a term of 4 years.

He was nominated as Technical expert (Civil Engineering) in Prime Minister of Pakistan Inspection Committee. Prof. Memon has recently received Research Productivity Award (2016-17) announced by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology and is the only Civil engineer of Pakistan whose name appears in this list. He is the recipient of Gold Medal from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan and has received several awards including Outstanding Academic Performance award, The college of Science and Engineering student Research Excellence award, Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate studies scholarship etc. As far as his research is concerned, he has an impressive SCI Journal Publication record of 58 Journal articles having a cumulative impact factor of over 165. His work on the development of structural-functional integrated concrete for thermal energy storage is a novel and innovative research work with high scientific esteem and valuable contribution to environment. Ali Kaveh was born in 1948 in Tabriz, Iran. After graduation from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Tabriz in 1969, he continued his studies on Structures at Imperial College of Science and Technology at London University, and received his M.Sc., DIC and Ph.D. degrees in 1970 and 1974, respectively. He then joined the Iran University of Science and Technology. Professor Kaveh is the author of 600 papers published in international journals and 150 papers presented at national and international conferences. He has authored 23 books in Persian and 10 books in English published by Wiley, Research Studies Press, American Mechanical Society and Springer. Professor Kaveh is the fellow of the Iranian Academy of Sciences, World Academy of Science, and European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
