Biography

Prof. Ing. Pavel Kovar is a full time professor in the Department of Land Use and Improvement at Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague since 2011. His subject areas have been modelling of hydrological processes - focused on water balance and hydrological extremes, use of biotechnical methods in land and water management, modelling of land use changes and their impact on water regimes. He has been an active member at IHP UNESCO, ICID, IAHS, Scientific Council of FES CULS Prague, Soil and Water Institute Prague, Director of International Courses "Water Disaster Prevention", Editorial Board Journal of Soil and Water Research.

Research Area

His research topics are impact of land use changes on water regime on catchment, Change of water balance components in extreme hydrological situations, Simulation of floods/drought scenarios in rainfall-runoff relationship.
