Biography
Dr. Nihad Bahaaldeen Salih obtained his BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Tikrit University, Iraq, in 1996 and MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq, in 2003, and his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from Brunel University-London, UK, in 2013. He was affiliated as Faculty in the Irrigation Engineering Department, University of Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region of Iraq from 2003 onwards. His research interests include experimental investigations on the mechanical behavior of problematic soils and rocks, soil stabilization, dams foundation issues, shallow and deep foundations issues, and theoretical study and correlations of the geotechnical properties of soils for Kurdistan of Iraq soils. He has participated in a large number of Civil Engineering projects in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. In addition, he is a head of two engineering departments (Irrigation and Chemical) in the College of Engineering at the University of Sulaimani in Kurdistan Region of Iraq and an adjunct professor in the American University of Iraq- Sulaimani (AUIS) since January 2014.
